How to receive crypto: Main vs ERC-20 address

All wallets with their own branded stablecoin have two receive addresses. The main address converts eligible stables into a branded stablecoin coin; the ERC-20 address does not.

Open Receive

  1. On Home, tap Receive.

  2. You will see two tabs: the branded coin (labeled like [YourBrand] USD) and ERC-20 Tokens.

  3. Share the address or link on the tab you mean. They are not interchangeable.

1. Main address — auto-converts to branded stablecoins

Use this tab when someone is sending you an eligible stablecoin that should land as your branded coin (example in the design: [YourBrand] USD). All non-stablecoin assets are simply forwarded to your balance, all non-eligible stablecoins are also forwarded to your balance.

What this address does:

  • Auto-convert

Eligible incoming stablecoins at this address convert into the branded coin. Non-eligible incoming stablecoins and all non-stablecoin tokens will not be auto-converted, the value you have received will simply be added to the appropriate token's balance.

  • Insurance

Value held in the branded coin is protected up to the cap shown in the app (example: $100,000). Confirm the live figure in your Receive screen — do not treat a help article as the policy. Different branded stablecoins can have different insurance policies. Reach out to the issuer of the branded stablecoin for additional information.

  • Privacy (coming soon)

Balances in the branded coin stay private to third parties even though they are tracked on a public chain.

  • Settlement time

Transfers below $50,000 can take up to 2 hours to settle to the branded coin. The sender can choose instant or slow settlement. If the sender has chosen instant settlement - assets should appear in a few minutes. If the sender has selected the slow settlement (Economy) model, you might need to wait a few hours to see the update in your balance.

  • Fees

The sender might pass some settlement fees to you.

Copy the address or tap Share link / the QR on this tab only. Tell the sender they are paying a stablecoin that this wallet will convert.

2. ERC-20 address

Use this tab when you need a normal ERC-20 deposit — any ERC-20 token, kept as that token.

What this address does:

  • No conversion & No branded-coin benefits

Stablecoins sent here stay as those tokens. They are not converted into the branded coin. You do not get that coin’s insurance, deep liquidity, or privacy on those deposits. Use this address if you insist on receiving a specific stablecoin and when you are sure you want to forfeit all the benefits of a branded stablecoin.

  • Speed

How fast it arrives depends on the gas the sender paid and congestion on the selected chain.

  • Fees

All fees are paid by the sender.

Which tab to use

  • Want USD-style stables as branded USD, with insurance and privacy — main / [YourBrand] USD tab.

  • Want USDT, wETH, or any other ERC-20 left unchanged — ERC-20 Tokens tab.

Sending to the wrong tab is the usual failure: a stablecoin on the ERC-20 tab will not convert or pick up insurance; an unsupported asset on the main tab may not appear as branded USD. Always match the network the sender is using. After it lands, check Home and Activity.
